We work with hotels across the island and can quote your whole trip as one package.

Family, senior and accessibility friendly. We can arrange an elder-friendly set-up (slower pace, shorter drives, ground-floor rooms, lift-access hotels, wheelchair-friendly vehicles and skip-the-climb alternatives such as the Sigiriya museum and gardens or the Pidurangala base viewpoint) and a child-friendly set-up (child and booster seats, family or connecting rooms, hotels with pools, shorter driving days and kid-friendly meals).

Guides and languages. Our chauffeur-guides work in English, German and Hindi, and we can arrange French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Chinese and Japanese speaking guides on request.

Meals. The meals shown in the itinerary are what we include when we arrange your accommodation on half board. If you book your own hotels, your meals follow your own hotel booking – tell us which you prefer.

Day 01 :

Arrival – Welcome to Sri Lanka

Ayubowan! Your Lanka Itinerary chauffeur-guide meets you in the arrivals hall at Bandaranaike International Airport with a name board and a cold drink. Negombo is only 20 minutes away, so there is time to rest after the flight. In the late afternoon, take an easy walk along the Dutch-era canal, visit the busy fish market (best before noon) or watch the outrigger fishing boats return at sunset. Your guide will brief you on the journey ahead over dinner.

Day 02 :

Munneswaram & Manavari – Temples of Lord Shiva

Visit Munneswaram, one of the oldest Shiva temples in Sri Lanka, where Lord Rama is believed to have prayed after the war to atone for killing Ravana, and nearby Manavari, where the first lingam was installed by Rama. Continue to the Cultural Triangle or Kandy.

Day 03 :

Ramayana Sites around Kandy – Sita Kotuwa & Ravana Caves

Explore places linked to the Ramayana: the Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple at Ramboda (built by the Chinmaya Mission) and, depending on the route, Sita Kotuwa and Ravana's caves. Your specialist guide explains the local legends at each site.

Day 04 :

Seetha Amman Temple, Ashok Vatika & Divurumpola

Visit the Seetha Amman Temple at Seetha Eliya, believed to be where Sita was held in Ashok Vatika; look for the 'footprints of Hanuman' on the stream rocks. Continue to Divurumpola, the place where tradition says Sita underwent the agni pariksha (trial by fire).

Day 05 :

Ravana Falls & Ravana Cave, Ella

Day 06 :

Ussangoda & Rumassala – Hanuman's Herbal Mountain

Drive to the south coast. Visit Ussangoda, a strange, barren plateau believed to be where Hanuman's fire burned Ravana's airfield, and Rumassala near Galle, said to be a piece of the Himalaya dropped by Hanuman as he carried healing herbs.
